31 October – 4 November: "WE ARE STORIES" - International Festival of Storytelling, 2nd edition, organized in Bucharest by the GRADUSART Cultural Association. The International Storytelling Festival is dedicated to all who love stories: children, parents, educators, teachers, journalists, artists, business specialists and humanitarian organizations. Among special guests, world-famous narrators will be present: Jeff Gere of Hawaii, Anne Glover of Canada, Alicia DongJoo Bang of South Korea, John Mukeny Namai of Kenya, Giorgiana Popan of Arad, Romania, Adriana Ene from Bucharest. This year's theme is: “Friendship Stories”. The five-day Storytelling Festival will be held at the University Central Library, Verona Bookstore, Bucharest International Computer Theoretical High School, Matei Basarab College Bucharest and Excelsior Theater. 31 October: In the series of Famous Cartographies, a cultural project of the National Museum of Old Maps and Books, the story of the Cartograph entitled "Dacia. Moesia. Old description", made by the famous Flemish cartographer Abraham Ortelius and published in Antwerpen in 1595, will be brought to the attention of the public. The presentation, which will be made by Historian Silviu Anghel, will be accompanied by a musical program inspired by the story of the exposed map, in the interpretation of the Chordis Quartet in Tg.Mureș.
27 October-13 November: SONORO Festival, 12th edition – Bucharest, Timișoara, Cluj and Brașov. Cameral music will blend with poetry, video art, fashion design.
1-5 November: Urban Eye Festival: at Elvire Popesco Cinema and Apollo 111 Theatre. The Festival emphasizes relevant subjects highly topical today, like the quality of city life, the importance of pedestrian public spaces, the housing right, the reappraisal of cultural heritage and land art. Several films about cities and communities from countries like Lebanon, Cuba, Russia, Denmark, U.S.A will have their premiere at the Festival. This is a project belonging to the “ARTA in Dialogue” Association, sponsored by the “Bucharest Participative City” Cultural Program and co-sponsored by the Romanian Chamber of Architects.Contact: Architect Monica Sebastyen.

31 October: Ploiești, Prahova: „Toma Caragiu” Theater Festival, 7th edition. The event is organized by the Ploiești Municipality, the “Toma Caragiu” Theater and the “Viitor Art” Association. Performances are scheduled to take place at the “Toma Caragiu” Theater, at the Trade Union’s Culture House, at the new Hall of the Ciufulici Theater for Children and at the Theater’s Beerhouse. The selection of the Festival’s plays was made by Raluca Rădulescu, translator and journalist, Producer at Radio Romania Cultural. According to Mihaela Rus, General Manager of the Theater, 142 artists will be present, including famous actors of the Romanian stage, such as Victor Rebengiuc, Oana Pellea, Mariana Mihuț, Marcel Iureș, Gheorghe Visu, and Florin Piersic jr. The Festival will have 18 events, including plays and concerts.
Timișoara: This is the last week of Art Encounters – Contemporary Art Bienalle, with exhibitions focused on contemporary Romanian art, discussions, guided workshops and visits.

2 November: Bucharest: The Japanese Cultural Month starts at the Romanian-American University in Bucharest with an original presentation of kimonos designed by Master Nobuaki Tomita. Especially known as a kimono designer, Nobuaki Tomita (who is also the president of the luxury clothing company Kyokaori in Kyoto) has manufactured the costumes of the actors in over two thousand Japanese films and TV series. His kimonos are remarked due to the prints that reproduce famous landscapes worldwide.
