CSM issues negative opinion on request for removal of Attorney General

Prosecutors Section of the Romanian Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) issued a negative opinion, on Monday, 19 November, on the request of Justice Minister Tudorel Toader to dismiss Attorney General Augustin Lazăr.

Opinion is an advisory one. Final decision is made by the President of Romania.

Prosecutor General has asked the Court to suspend the revocation procedure, challenging the assessment report drafted by the Minister of Justice, Rador reports.
