Coronavirus: Romania closes schools during March 11-22. Additional measures

All schools and kindergartens in Romania will be closed starting Wednesday, March 11 until March 22 to prevent coronavirus spread, interim Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced after the meeting of the National Committee for Emergency Situations. Measure can be extended if the situation so requires.
Additional measures
Interior Minister Marcel Vela announced all passenger road traffic to and from Italy will be suspended over March 10-31.
All public events with a number of participants above 1,000 people have been banned until the end of the month. Dozens of concerts have been cancelled or postponed. Football Federation and Professional Football League have announced all matches will be played without spectators.
Board of the Association of Publishers in Romania has decided to cancel the 9th edition of the Bookfest Book Fair in Timisoara, scheduled for March 12-15.
Access in hospitals for the next of kin and medical students performing internships is temporarily forbidden.
Ministry of Education has decided to suspend national and regional school Olympics, as well as sports competitions.
All events scheduled at the Radio Hall in Bucharest are canceled until March 31.
