Cooperation agreement between the Romanian and French audiovisual regulatory authorities

The President of the National Audiovisual Council, Monica Gubernat, aims to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience between the institution and the French Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communications to ensure better implementation of European directives to protect the public from harmful and illegal content.

The two institutions signed today a cooperation and information exchange agreement.

Monica Gubernat said that the National Audiovisual Council has set out to develop a short term strategy to combat disinformation, especially in an election year that is dense for Romania, and a long term strategy that will focus on media education and the development of non-binding legal instruments.

For his part, the President of the French similar authority, Roch-Olivier Maistre, said that the signing of the agreement marked the renewal of a partnership based on mutual recognition of common challenges.
