Constanța: 75 Iraqi migrants claim political asylum in Romania

Iraqi migrants who have illegally arrived in Constanţa, Romanian Harbor at the Black Sea, have requested political asylum in Romania.
The 75 Iraqi were temporarily housed in a Holiday Village hotel.
Following their asylum application, the Iraqi migrants were transferred to the Refugee Center in Galaţi, for the necessary formalities.
Over the last few months, the Constanţa Border Police Officers have intercepted five vessels on the Black Sea, with migrants on board, trying to get to Western Europe.
According to RRA correspondent in Constanţa, Mona Constantinescu, over 300 illegal migrants have been detected in the Romanian Black Sea territorial waters over the past few months.
