Commercial flights to 17 European countries, including Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece and Hungary, can be resumed today, and people arriving in Romania are no longer required to be isolated or quarantined.
For the most important European routes, however, another decision is expected, until tomorrow being in force a normative act that prohibits scheduled flights to and from destinations such as Belgium, France, Italy, Great Britain or Spain.
There are strict health protection rules at "Henri Coanda" Otopeni Airport and for this reason it is recommended that passengers arrive at least three hours before take-off - Valentin Iordache, the airport's communications director, points out.
Valentin Iordache: When the passenger arrives at the airport, he first goes to a tent. These tents are located in the airport parking lot. The temperature measurement is also done here, and the passengers, in groups of maximum 50 people, will go to the check-in formalities. It is only in the boarding area that benches can be found again, where passengers can relax. Disinfectant gel dispensers are placed after each checkpoint. When boarding, buses are used at a maximum of 50% capacity. It is mandatory to wear a mask on the nose and mouth throughout the terminal. On the plane too, but the responsibility lies with the company.
Host: Reporter Alexandru Lancuzov also told us that, as of today, TAROM has resumed flights on the route Bucharest - Athens, and that the next commercial flight is scheduled for Wednesday, to Frankfurt - Germany. It also operates special charter flights - to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels and London.
