The code red heatwave continues in most parts of the country.

In the coming days, the maximum temperatures will also exceed 40 degrees Celsius and the discomfort will be more pronounced.

Exceptions are nine counties in Transylvania and Maramures, where code orange is in place.

The authorities have taken measures to protect the population, with hydration and first aid points organized. Traffic restrictions have been put in place for heavy goods vehicles and trains are running at reduced speeds.

At the same time, doctors recommend avoiding exposure to the sun, dark clothing and traveling.
