The leaders of the ruling parties have not yet reached an agreement on the abolition of the Department for the Investigation of Crimes in Justice.
After the coalition meeting, held at Victoria Palace, the PNL president, Ludovic Orban, specified that all parties are in favor of the dissolution, but that a unanimous solution must be found.
The leaders of the parties that form the governing coalition still failed to reach a consensus on the formula for abolishing the Department for the Investigation of Crimes in Justice.
UDMR proposes that the files from SIIJ be taken over at the General Prosecutor's Office, while the Ministry of Justice insists that the files be moved to DNA or DIICOT.
At the end of this evening's coalition meeting, PNL President Ludovic Orban stressed that all parties forming the governmental arc support the abolition of the Department.
Ludovic Orban: All political parties are determined to disband this section. We are going to agree on a formula regarding the way in which we abolish SIIJ.
Today, the co-president of USR PLUS Dan Barna strongly rejected the UDMR amendment and stated that a solution must be found to implement the recommendations of the Venice Commission on the abolition of the Special Section in the form proposed by the Government.
UDMR representatives called for balance in order to continue governing in the current formula.
Prime Minister Florin Citu also called for a solution in Parliament, so that all misunderstandings on this issue can be overcome.
