Climate change is already being felt and its impact will be a major one in Romania as well.
According to some weather scenarios, by the end of this century, the average annual temperatures will increase by about 8 degrees Celsius in the summer months, and the thickness of the snow layer will be reduced by almost 80 percent.
In an analysis for the InfoClima platform, meteorologist Roxana Bojariu, president of the Scientific Council of ANM, says that the characteristics of seasons will change, but their number will remain the same.
Spring will start earlier, and summer will last longer.
Winter will have less snow, this having a significant impact on the soil water supply for agricultural crops.
