The Military Training Center in Cincu, Brasov County, hosts an exercise until July 20, where 25,000 soldiers from 22 NATO allied countries participate.
US Ambassador to Bucharest, Hans Klemm, was present in Cincu yesterday, and said that this Training and Command Center could be a model for the entire Black Sea region.
Hans Klemm: This place will become a true training center not only for Romania but for the whole region. Everything that has been done is very impressive. I was here last summer and nothing that we see today did not exist at that time. There are major changes. The Command Center alone seems to have doubled in size compared to last summer. This work is a symbol of our Strategic Partnership, and of the common goals we have as partners in NATO.
The Cincu military exercise aims at multi-annual development of more than 120 shooting range areas and firing range infrastructure, in collaboration with the Allied forces stationed within the shooting perimeter, said Brigadier General Gheorghiţă Vlad, Commander of the Cincu National Joint Training Center.
Gheorghiţă Vlad: We have tried to develop a training capability for all categories of forces, not only for Land Forces. We have a very ambitious plan to develop this National Training Center. We have 122 projects in progress and I am very convinced that by the end of 2018 we will develop a very modern Training Center with all the necessary capabilities to support a military training process.
