China Radio International (CRI) marked, on 29 August 2018, anniversary of 50 years since first transmission of its Romanian service.

Chinese Prime Minister in office at that time decided that the first Romanian broadcasting start ahead schedule, to show appreciation of Romania's opposition to invasion of Czechoslovakia in August 1968.

Over the years, Radio Romania has collaborated with China Radio International, and listeners of both radio stations have thus had the opportunity to better understand the culture of the two countries, states a press release of the Romanian Embassy in Beijing.
