Celebrations of the "National Day of Hungarians Everywhere"
The celebrations for the "National Day of Hungarians Everywhere" included cultural, religious and sport events in many localities in Transylvania. The National Day was also celebrated in Hungary.

About 8,000 people have gathered Tuesday in Târgu Secuiesc to participate at the celebration organized for the "National Day of Hungarians Everywhere", where they commemorated the 1848 Hungarian Revolution, România Actualităţi correspondent in Covasna Mălina Negrea reported.
According to tradition, celebrations began with a parade of Hussars and carts coming from surrounding villages, all decorated with flowers and red, white and green coloured flags.
The celebrations for the Hungarian National Day included cultural, artistic, sport and religious events in several localities in Covasna county.
An art exhibition took place in Sfântu Gheorghe in the afternoon, where there was exposed a huge panorama painting depicting the Battle of Sibiu fought in 1849, with the army led by Polish general Jozsef Bem. The exhibition was followed by a parade of Hussars and a popular assembly where the historical moment from 1848-1849 was evoked and speeches concerning unity and aspirations within the Hungarian community were delivered.
The "National Day of Hungarians Everywhere", also celebrated in Transylvania
Many cities in Transylvania celebrated the "National Day of Hungarians Everywhere" which is one of Hungary’s three national holidays and marks the beginning of the Revolution of 1848.
The main celebrations took place in Miercurea Ciuc in Harghita county, where people enjoyed the participation of the head of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania Kelemen Hunor and other officials in Budapest.
On this occasion, heads of three county councils, Harghita, Covasna and Mureş, also received Hungarian citizenship Tuesday, after making the oath of allegiance, according to the new on citizenship in Hungary.
A popular parade was held in Târgul Secuiesc, in Covasna county.
Several thousand people gathered Tuesday in the centre of Târgul Secuiesc, in the exact location where the Hungarian revolutionary Gabor Aron made 64 cannons in 1848 by melting church bells from neighboring villages, Radio România correspondent Oana Negrea informed.
The celebration began with its traditional parade of carts decorated with flowers, tree brancehs and red, white and green coloured flags, followed by a parade of Hussars.
Foreign guest attended the National Day celebrations in Târgul Secuiesc.
Celebrations will continue this afternoon in Sfântu-Gheorghe, where a popular assembly will take place at four o’clock.
In the opening there will be the unveiling of big panorama painting depicting the Battle of Sibiu fought in 1849, led by General Józef Bem.
Hungary celebrates the "National Day of Hungarians Everywhere"
Hungary celebrated on Tuesday 163 years from the beginning of the Revolution of 1848, România Actualităţi correspondent in Hungary Emil Groza informs.
The official celebrations began in Budapest with the Hungarian flag hoisting on Kossuth Square, near the Parliament building, in the presence of state authorities. The celebration continued in front of the National Museum, where thousands of people gathered the event.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban held a speech where he talked about the events in 1848 and also stated that Hungarians have always acted on their country’s interest when authorities lacked in behaving responsively or when promoting false ideas, which happened in 1956 or in 1990, as well as in 2010, when parliamentary elections were held.
