The Constitutional Court of Romania is a very important partner of the Court of Justice of the European Union, in establishing a common constitutional framework in Europe, based on the values of human dignity, freedom and respect for the rule of law, said the president of the Luxembourg court, Koen Lenaerts, after the meeting in Bucharest with the president of CCR, Marian Enache.
Koen Lenaerts also said that the CCR has sent important cases to the Court of Justice and that more cases and questions will come from all European constitutional courts for the interpretation of the law.
Koen Lenaerts: The Court of Justice interprets the law of the European Union so that it is applied uniformly and in the same way in all member states. European law must mean the same thing in Romania, in Belgium, in Portugal, in Estonia, in Greece and I can list 27 times. But to ensure this, the Court of Justice needs the contribution of national courts, which discover problems of European Union law, possible problems related to the interaction between European and national law, including national constitutional law, and send them to the Court of Justice, which try to reinterpret so that they are adapted to the rich jurisprudence of the Constitutional Courts.
Producer: The President of the CCR, Marian Enache, stated that he had an open and cooperative dialogue with his guest, in the context in which one of the priorities of his mandate is the promotion of dialogue with the constitutional courts, especially the Court of Justice of the European Union.
According to Marian Enache, with the European Union, another type of diplomacy appeared, the judicial one, which contributes to maintaining stability and harmonizing procedures in the Community Block.
