Campaign to promote holiday vouchers

Campaign to promote holiday vouchers

Articol de Radiojurnal, 22 Iunie 2020, 16:30

Companies that give holiday vouchers to employees can have many benefits. A campaign in which they are explained in detail was launched by the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Business Environment and by the Professional Association of Ticket Issuers.

Holiday vouchers, granted to public sector employees, but also to those working in the private sector, have had a positive impact from an economic and social point of view, given that, annually, over 1 million Romanians have chosen to go on holiday in country, using this payment method.

Employers who give holiday vouchers can deduct 100% of their value annually, up to 13.380 lei for each employee, and also benefit from the exemption from paying the insurance contribution for work, amounting to 2.25% of the worker's gross salary. Holiday vouchers are also exempt from paying social contributions due by the employee.

The information campaign, called "Relaunching Romanian tourism post-COVID-19", shows that all employees working under an individual employment contract can receive holiday vouchers worth up to 13.380 lei, meaning 6 guaranteed minimum gross salaries. These vouchers, which can also be a reward for the work done, can be used to pay for accommodation in tourist units in the country, but also for other services, such as meals, transport or spa treatments.

This year, the vouchers will be awarded only electronically. Ticket users have free mobile applications at their disposal, while companies can use online ordering platforms. We remind you that in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the validity of the holiday vouchers issued last year between March and December was extended until May 31, 2021.
