Romania notifies Hungary that the so-called ”Development of Transylvania Program” - through which the Hungarian Government wants to subsidize farmers in Transylvania - should be carried out only with the involvement of the Romanian authorities, in a transparent and non-discriminatory way.
Message was transmitted by the Romanian Ambassador to Budapest, Marius Lazurca, who recalled that Romania did not give its consent for application of this program.
RRA Correspondent in Hungary, Emil Groza: Present in Békéscsaba, at an event marking the 20th anniversary of the Hungarian-Romanian Section of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Romanian Ambassador to Budapest, Marius Lazurca, reiterated Romania's official position regarding the economic assistance provided by the Hungarian Government to Hungarian entrepreneurs from certain regions in Romania. According to a statement from the Embassy of Romania in Budapest, Marius Lazurca said that the so-called Transylvania Development Program launched by the Hungarian Government, has not been discussed in detail with the Government of Romania and is not subject of a bilateral agreement, as would be natural. As Marius Lazurca reiterated, Romania did not agree application of these measures and therefore calls for the program to be carried out only with the involvement of the Romanian authorities, in a transparent and non-discriminatory way.
