Bucharest reached an anti-COVID-19 vaccination coverage rate of 63.5% of the population over 12 years old, and in three counties this rate exceeded 50%: Cluj, Constanta and Sibiu.
At the opposite pole are two counties with percentages below 30%: Covasna and Suceava, said the coordinator of the National Vaccination Campaign. The national average is about 43%.
At the current rate, by the end of the year only half of the eligible population could end up having at least one dose of an anti-COVID-19 serum, calculated Dr. Valeriu Gheorghita, who also points out that this level is insufficient in order to prevent a significant impact of the next pandemic waves and even for the current wave that Romania is facing.
