The 63rd annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly starts today in Bucharest, one of the most important international meetings on security, as well as economic and social issues.
The Autumn Session is attended by more than 50 delegations from NATO Member States or Associated Countries.
Discussions will focus on current issues of international security. The specialized committees are going to adopt reports that have been debated in Georgia during the Spring Session.
The reports cover security and defense issues, and specific topics are to be discussed with representatives of Member States Governments, academia, civil society and NATO.
The plenary session – scheduled for Monday, under the chairmanship of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly President – will open with speeches of the Head of the Romanian State, the Speakers of both Chambers in the Romanian Parliament and NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg.
Also on Monday, the Romanian President and the Romanian Prime Minister will have talks with the NATO Secretary General.
