Romanian Interim Prime Minister Mihai Fifor has participated today at the Victoria Palace in Bucharest at the opening of the meeting of the future EU Presidency Trio that Romania will be part of for six months starting with January 1, 2019, and that also includes Finland and Croatia.
Mihai Fifor assured the three delegations - headed by Romanian Minister-Delegate for European Affairs, Victor Negrescu, State Secretary for EU Affairs within Finland’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, Kare Halonen and State Secretary for EU Affairs within the Republic of Croatia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, Andreja Metelko-Zgombić - the full commitment of the Romanian Government in reference to preparing Romania’s EU Presidency and cooperating with the Finnish and Croatian EU Presidencies.
At the end of the meeting, when the parties agreed on the timetable of the Romania-Finland-Croatia Trio, as well as on the working methodology, Minister-Delegate Victor Negrescu referred to the steps that have been taken so far by Romania in the preparation of the joint program within the Trio with Finland and Croatia and of the national document with Romania’s priorities and agenda during its EU Presidency.
The dialogue that has been launched in September last year will contribute to the crystallization of common priorities in the coming months, taking into account the outcome of the public consultations that are scheduled to take place and the fact that there are common wishes of citizens in almost all the EU Member States - the three officials said regarding the Romania-Finland-Croatia Trio agenda, according to a press release.
