Bucharest-Ilfov Ambulance Service opened its doors to visitors on Sunday. For seven days, those interested could effectively participate, among others, in emergencies arising in the field.
Those who want to visit Bucharest-Ilfov Ambulance Service can do it every day in the morning until 13:00 and in the afternoon, between 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The curious ones will be taught first aid courses, but they may even actively participate in saving a life.
Gabriel Valsan, Volunteer at Ambulance Service Bucharest-Ilfov, talks about what visitors can see.
"Once you arrive here, you can see how the crews are preparing for cases, you can see emergency equipment on the cars, we can also experiment with them, or see the first aid training, and you will see first aid maneuvers.
"You can also go in certain situations with the appropriate crews to see a case or two and actively participate in saving a life," says Gabriel Valsan.
The first day of the Open Gates came especially medical students, curious to see how to effectively work in emergencies, because they have not yet had these courses in college.
"First of all, I came to see what emergency medicine means and I want to make my first impression about what a revival implies, what an intubation means.
"I am myself a medical student. I'm fascinated by anesthesia and intensive care since I was little and I came to see what specifically implies medicine and emergency ambulance services," said two of the first visitors.
