British Ambassador Paul Brummel ends mandate in Romania

Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall has received on Thursday, 12 July, British Ambassador to Bucharest Paul Brummel in a farewell visit at the end of his mandate in Romania.
Ana Birchall told Ambassador Brummel that he is "a true friend of Romania", and thanked him for his collaboration and for his sustained efforts to deepen the Romanian-British relationship.
"Relationship between Romania and the United Kingdom has been, is and will remain special. The UK will remain one of Romania's most important partners and strategic allies, even in the post-Brexit context", Deputy Prime Minister said.
Ana Birchall stressed that Romania wants the UK to stay as close as possible to the European Union and to continue to play a leading role in the security, defense and economic dimensions.
British diplomat also thanked for the excellent institutional and personal collaboration, highlighting the special relationship between Romania and the UK, according to a press release issued by the Romanian Government.
