Mayor Sorin Oprescu says he asked from the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) a list with all Bucharest inhabitants who have over 2500 RON income per capita, in order to block them from receiving subventions.
The General Mayor of Bucharest, Sorin Oprescu, declared on Wednesday he wishes that starting from this winter all people from Bucharest who have incomes that “exceed 2500 RON per capita” should fully pay a Gcal .
Sorin Oprescu asked from ANAF, according to Agerpres, a list with all Bucharest habitants who have over 2500 RON income per capita, the money gained from subventions being transferred to those with less revenue.
‘It is neither dignified nor righteous that people with 2000- 2500 RON income per capita should get Gcal subventions’.
‘Why should Mr. Oprescu, Mr. Basescu or the president of the Chamber benefit from a subvention payment?’
They should pay because they can afford it.
‘Consequently, the money will be unblocked for people who really need it and who have central heating contracts’.
Subventions, a burden for local authorities
‘I am not making discriminations. What we do is natural. As long as we are talking about more people who will get support’, said Sorin Oprescu, as stated by Agerpres.
These affirmations were held at the Industry and Services Commission belonging to the Chamber of Deputies, where the mayor announced some amendments regarding Sanitation Law.
The General Mayor also mentioned that The Executive stopped giving subventions for gigacalories for two years.
‘Once I have the list from ANAF, I will pass it to the General Council for approval, after which people can start paying.
‘People pay 170RON per Gcal, the rest up to 328RON being paid by the City Hall, said Sorin Oprescu.
