Banks will have to reassess the eligibility of clients holders of credit cards, according to a new regulation of the BNR, published last month.
This action updates the amount of income derived from certain reviews.
The administrator of a site dedicated to the cashless payments, Sergiu Cone, bank cards specialist , points out that the revaluation could bring even the cancellation of credit cards of those who no longer are able to prove now.
"Banks will now be required to make this reassessment of clients, automatically will have to take each client and make him reconsider, speaking of the income which they charge and what level of a new credit lines he qualifies at this point.
"We have already seen comments just from bankers, who expect that those who will be re-evaluated this year, a percentage of up to 30%, bank will be forced to give up the credit card. If we're talking about someone who five years ago took out a credit card, the bank may find that in the meantime, his salary is no longer the same, or perhaps even that is no longer employed, "said Sergiu Cone.
He noted that, if this was a good client paying and failed to pay all these five years credit card rates now, according to the new regulations, the bank will be obliged to recalculate this credit line depending on available revenues.
It should be stressed that the application of Regulation No 17. of BNR will not affect in any way the amounts secured card accounts.
