RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, states that the weekly statistics on the number of those infected with Covid show a downward trend and believes that this will continue in the next period.

In the last 24 hours, 4.689 new cases of Covid were registered, almost 1.200 more than the previous day.

Alexandru Rafila says that, despite the higher number of infected people, statistics show a decrease of approximately 5.000 cases per week.

Alexandru Rafila: "Regarding the week that just ended, the numbers are: 51.832 new cases, 10.000 being reinfected people, 182 deaths and about 170.000 tests performed. The figures demonstrate a reduction in the total number of cases registered in a week by around 5.000, so a significant decrease. We hope this trend continues."

In the last 24 hours, 14 deaths were also reported in the country: nine men and five women.

The infection rate recorded at 14 days at national level is 4.22 cases per thousand inhabitants.

Bucharest has the highest Covid incidence rate, respectively 9.77.
