Prime Minister asks explanations of Bolintineanu high school students’ hearings
Prime Minister Victor Ponta is waiting for explanations from the Minister of Interior regarding the police action to take the students by coach to hearings in the case of baccalaureate fraud, broadcasts the Radio Romania editor, Angela Matei.
He says it was a poorly conceived and coordinated action and assures that those who committed abuses will be responsible for this action.
Prime Minister Victor Ponta says it is important that in Romania to be applied the law without committing abuses.
"From my point of view responsible is the interior minister which has to explain to me why didn’t he know from the start, why was he wrongly informed, because the first time he said to me that there are no warrants, then they were, or they were but not very clear, moreover I know the procedure very well, I have to warn a person insofar such person does not want to be present, then you can use retrofit warrant.
But what interests me most is that after this unfortunate, outrageous episode of Friday, I want everyone to understand that prosecutors who are not subordinated to the government, they neither should be subordinated to the government. The police working within the interior ministries must understand that the times of Macovei, Morar when everyone could do any abuse because that was dictated from higher places, those days must end", said Victor Ponta.
The prime minister also stressed that those who are guilty in this case will be responsible for any abuses committed, and if this is the case of prosecutors, they will be responsible in front of CSM.
Students’ hearing at "Dimitrie Bolintineanu" high school will resume today at 10:00 at the Capital Police, said the spokesman of the Bucharest Tribunal Prosecutor.
