Authorities have stepped up controls on the coast

It is a very busy weekend, there are now over 120.000 tourists staying at the seaside, but the real number could be substantially higher if we take into account the fact that many visitors prefer to stay with relatives or with locals.
Measures imposed by the authorities to prevent and limit the spread of the new coronavirus are often ignored.
The seafronts and promenades are full of people in the evening, and tourists are queuing to catch seats at terraces or bars that close after 23:00, our correspondent Sorin Cealera reports.
Authorities have intensified controls in crowded areas of resorts.
Fines for non-compliance with anti-COVID measures start at 500 lei and can reach up to 2.500 lei.
