With the start of the new school year, authorities are considering opening vaccination centers in schools.
However, the immunization of students over 12 years of age will be done only with the parents' consent - the Minister of Health, Ioana Mihaila, told Radio Romania News.
Ioana Mihaila: We are still in talks with the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities to find the best methods by which we can carry out vaccination activities at school level, because there are significant differences from one community to another. We do not have the same coverage of medical staff, for example, in urban schools as in rural areas, and then these vaccination activities will have to be adapted to each place. Most likely, in rural areas and in schools where there are not enough medical staff it will be decided to use mobile units for vaccination, but, yes, vaccination of children will be done based on parental consent.
