Attack at the university during an exam
An explosion occurred Monday morning in a classroom at the Faculty of Telecommunications of the Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi" during the graduation exam.
A man came into the building with two explosive devices, which he threatened he will detonate.
Dean of the Faculty, Bogdan Ion, who was in the room where the man came in, said he discussed with him and tried to persuade him not to implement his threats, telling to take him as hostage, but the man said he has nothing to discuss, and he wants the cops to discuss with.
According to students, the attacker would have accidentally detonated one explosive device he had.
Some students used the opportunity and jumped on the attacker, immobilizing him. He was then taken over by the police.
The second explosive device was dismantled by police.
The entire area was isolated by policemen and gendarmes and the tram stop outside the university was moved to a distance of several tens of meters.
