Tens of thousands of people gathered in the University Square in Bucharest on Saturday to participate in the protest entitled on social networks "Romania says No to corruption, All for justice".
People from the City of Cluj – who started walking on January 10 towards the capital in a march called "hope" - arrived in Bucharest. They were joined by others on their way.
Other groups of protesters across the country arrived in Bucharest by train, carrying banners and message boards against corruption and the ruling coalition.
About 100 people left this afternoon from Piteşti to Bucharest to participate in the protest rally. Dozens of people also came to Bucharest from Galaţi.
Protesters come to the capital with their personal cars and bring banners with them, writing "Resist" and "Everything for Justice". On departure, people chanted "We save Romania!"
Protesters of all ages came to express their anger at the left-wing government. They protested against legislation passed by Parliament which critics say will make it harder to prosecute crime and high-level corruption.
