Romanian National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) has closed the EADS file, where investigation has been carried out on possible corruption offenses committed at conclusion of the EUR 750 million contract on border security.
DNA claims that no evidence of corruption has been found in the EADS file, and a Constitutional Court decision on abuse of office has been also invoked.
"The grounds for closing the file were based on the fact that as a result of the investigations carried out, all the probative means being exhausted, there was no evidence to show, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the facts alleged to be committed meet the conditions of a corruption offense”.
No violations of the primary law provisions (in the light of provisions of the Constitutional Court Decision No. 405 of 15 June 2016) have been found regarding the procedure for concluding contracts for the feasibility study and implementation of an integrated system for Romania’s state border", states DNA.
According to information in the press, EADS file investigations focused on former Interior Ministers Marian Săniuţă, Vasile Blaga and Dan Nica.
Subsequently, in 2015, DNA expanded its research into involvement of Fujitsu Siemens Computers, owned by businessman Claudiu Florică, one of the delators in the Microsoft file.
