Anti-corruption indicators "had a notable increase in 2004- 2017"

Romania's success in fighting against corruption and improving the rule of law was quantified, and indicators showed a notable increase from 2004 to 2017, US Ambassador to Bucharest Hans Klemm said during a recent event organized by Fondul Proprietatea.

Transparency International takes a survey on the perception on corruption, and from 2004 to January this year, Romania ranked up 30 places in this index, the US Ambassador said.

Hans Klemm added that over the last 20 years, Romania has been an attractive base for the United States and for other investors interested in accessing the European market.
