Strengthening the role in the European Union and NATO and strengthening the close partnership with the United States must remain the cornerstones of Romanian diplomacy - was the message of the President of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, to the participants of the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy.
He emphasized that the abolition of land border controls and Romania's acceptance into the Schengen Area are a priority, as is joining the OECD.
Nicolae Ciuca: For Romania, the OECD is a new additional anchor of stability and prosperity. Through our joint efforts, Romania is to become a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development as soon as possible.
Romania will continue to support Ukraine as long as it is needed, Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu reiterated. The Republic of Moldova will also continue to benefit from Bucharest's support.
Luminita Odobescu: Romania's approach is a regional one. We want the Republic of Moldova to be taken into account when discussing the situation in Ukraine. Romania's regional vision aims to transform the Black Sea region into an area of peace, security and connectivity.
"Diplomatic action in an unstable world" is the theme of the Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy taking place in Bucharest, notes RRA reporter Catalin Purcaru.
