RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The National Investment Program "Anghel Saligny", with a value of 50 billion lei, intended to finance sewerage works, water supply, roads of local interest or for the distribution of natural gas in rural areas was adopted by the Chamber of Deputies, as a decision-making body.
The bill was supported by all parliamentary groups except the USR, which says the program is being used to increase the political power of local barons in areas controlled by ruling parties.
In reply, PSD and PNL state that the program is meant to reduce the economic gap with urban areas and that all USR mayors have requested access to funding.
