Former Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, leader of PNL, asked the liberal parliamentarians for maximum mobilization for the last week of activity of the Legislature in this session, which ends on Friday, June 30.
Nicolae Ciuca: On Monday, the ministers should be present at all the activities in order to be able to resolve the law on special pensions and there is, according to the report of the Minister of Labor, the acceptance at commission level on the content of the draft law, also the law on the pensions of parliamentarians and the law on the accumulation of the pension with the salary.
The draft law initiated by PSD, which aims to eliminate the special pensions of parliamentarians, is scheduled for the vote in the joint plenary session of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies today, after a positive opinion was adopted in the committees, with seven votes in favor and one abstention from the AUR part. Any special pension is an injustice, said deputy Cristian Seidler, from USR.
Cristian Seidler: USR believes that parliamentarians' pensions, like all other special pensions, must be eliminated immediately, because there is a legitimate and constitutional expectation, moreover, of fairness, of common sense. The special pensions of MPs are privileges and they must be abolished.
The project regarding the reform of special pensions, initiated by the Government, is still awaiting a report today in the Labor Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, as a decision-making body. Labor Minister Marius Budai stated that the amendments submitted by the parliamentarians of the government aim, among other things, at the recalculation of these pensions, but also at the 15% taxation of amounts that exceed the average net salary.
