All cancer patients could benefit from a disability certificate right from the diagnosis, according to new regulations that the Government is preparing.
The Ministries of Labor and Health put a legislative project in this sense into public debate yesterday.
Based on the document, new disability classification criteria are approved, thus helping all people with oncological conditions.
At present, the legislative norms establish the inclusion in the degree of disability only for certain forms of cancer and only if they are in advanced stages of evolution.
The project initiated by the Ministry of Labor and Health envisages the modification of these criteria, so that all oncological conditions are included from diagnosis and initiation of specific therapy for a minimum 5-year surveillance period.
Another provision in the document concerns those who have undergone organ transplantation, in the sense of social reintegration and the prevention of possible complications generated by this medical intervention.
