According to the Washington Post, in 2005, an important Al Qaida leader, Abu Faraj al Libi, was interrogated in a secret CIA prison in Romania.
The Libyan terrorist leader was arrested by Pakistani security forces, and, according to the Associated Press, he took control over the terrorist group's operations and communications back in 2003, after Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who supposedly planned the 9/11 attacks, was caught.
According to the CIA, the Libyan terrorist was supposedly relaying messages to high-ranking Al Qaida members, even to leader Osama Bin Laden and, according to former intelligence officials, Abu Faraj al Libi even saw Bin Laden ‘eye to eye’ or his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri after 2001.
The same American officials showed that the Libyan terrorist interrogated at the secret CIA facility in Romania had not given any information on the charges.
'Libi seemed to be the key to the puzzle but it turned out he was a dead end,' said Bruce Riedel, researcher at Brookings Institution Saban Center, and former CIA agent.
