Air Policing Missions in Romania, under NATO Command
Four Boeing CF-18 Hornet fighter jets, deployed by the Canadian Air Force (RCAF), and Romanian MiG-21 Lancers will ensure Air Policing Missions in Romania, under NATO Command.

Four Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CF-188 fighter aircraft, that have arrived at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base (Constanța), will ensure NATO enhanced Air Policing Missions in Romania for the following four months, alongside Romanian MiG-21 Lancers - the Romanian Ministry of Defense (MApN) announces.
According to the quoted source, the joint missions will contribute to the development of the reaction and deterrence capacity, as well as to the enhancement of the interoperability between the Romanian and Canadian air forces.
The Canadian detachment consists of approximately 135 soldiers, pilots and technical staff.
NATO Air Policing is a peacetime collective defense mission, safeguarding the integrity of the NATO Alliance Member’s Airspace.
