RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The impact of the war in Ukraine on Romania, the Romanian army's armament programmes and the recent cyber attacks are among the topics discussed at today's meeting of the Supreme Council of National Defence.
Reporter: Oana Bala- "Members of the Supreme Council of National Defence will discuss at today's meeting the implications for our country after the deterioration of the security situation in the Black Sea region in the context of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Progress in defence planning is another topic on the agenda, with particular attention being paid to the implementation of armament programmes, efforts to increase manning levels and the retention of military personnel. The Council's activity report for 2023 will also be presented, as well as that of the Cyber Security Operational Council. Recently, there have been cyber-attacks on several hospitals in the country, and the government is working with a European centre on a cybersecurity guide for IT administrators in the public system. The last meeting of the country's Supreme Defence Council took place last October."
