Aerostar Bacau will collaborate with an American company in the framework of a technical support agreement for the F-16 aircraft of the Air Force

The Aerostar company from Bacau signed on Friday, November 17, a collaboration contract with the American company Derco Airospace, part of the Lockheed Martin group. It is about the technological transfer necessary for the repairs of the landing gear, wheels and brakes of the F-16 aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force.
The Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Mircea Geoana, was also present at the event. He stated that the Alliance is interested in simultaneously achieving two goals of developing military and civilian industries.
"One, let's expand the defense industrial base at the level of all NATO countries, and for this we adopted in Vilnius an action plan for military industrial production, from which I hope that my country, Romania, will also benefit fully. And the second component I deal with directly is that of creating an innovation ecosystem for dual-use industries, civil and military", said Mircea Geoana.
Friday's signing of the agreement took place a few days after the inauguration earlier this week of the first European F-16 training center at Fetesti air base and builds on Lockheed Martin's 26 years of cooperation with Romania.
