50 migrants in danger of drowning have been saved over the past few days by the Romanian Border Police on a mission in the Aegean Sea.
The 50 people, including 19 children and 10 women, were on an inflatable motorboat in danger of sinking.
Romanian Border guards have provided the rescued people with assistance, food and water, and a few hours later they were safely disembarked in Chios and handed over to the Greek authorities for specific procedures.
Since the beginning of this year, Romanian Border Guards have rescued more than 1,200 people who were in danger on board small vessels in the Greek territorial waters, according to a press release of the Romanian Border Police.
