Actor Şerban Ionescu was buried with military honours Saturday afternoon, at Bellu cemetery in Bucharest.

Şerban Ionescu died Wednesday night at the Floreasca Hospital in Bucharest. Şerban Ionescu came to the hospital due to complications of the disease which he suffered from.

On Friday, fellow actors , close friends or fans, they took farewell from Batiştei Church, and then the National Theatre, where it was deposited the coffin.
Actor Şerban Ionescu died Wednesday night at the Floreasca Emergency hospital in Bucharest, according to the manager of the unit, Radu Macovei.
He was hospitalized, on Wednesday morning in the intensive care unit as a result of the worsening state of health.
Şerban Ionescu came to the hospital due to complications caused by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis , who was suffering.
Last year, the actor was diagnosed with borreliosis, a disease caused by the sting of a tick.
A life devoted to theater and cinema
Şerban Ionescu was born was born on September 23, 1950, in Corabia.
He spent his childhood between Braşov and Caracal, where his father worked.
He attended Popular School of Art, later going to the theater.
He graduated from the Institute of theatrical arts and cinematography at Amza Pellea's class and graduation was assigned to the theatre of Petroşani, where he performed numerous roles in plays such as "the Deputy" Horia Lovinescu, "The raft of Medusa" by Marin Sorescu, directed by Florin Fătulescu, "in search of the lost sense" of Ion Băieşu, directed by Florin Fătulescu.
Later he played at the Small Theatre and Theatre in Sibiu, Comedy Theatre and Odeon theatre.
In 2001, he was an employee of the National Theatre Bucharest.
In recent years he starred in shows such as: "Dinner party with fools", "Edward III," "the Cherry Orchard" and " Molto, gran” impressione ".
