Producer: Catalin Gombos - In our country, several activities aimed at developing preventive behavior in case of emergency situations have been taking place since Saturday within the "Civil Protection Week" program.
Thus, until March 4, the SMURD "Be Prepared" caravan will present first aid techniques and ways of behaving in the event of a disaster in several cities. "Such actions do not have the role of inducing panic, but of helping the population to react appropriately", said the head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat.
Raed Arafat: Our desire is to reach a high level of resilience. This means that an emergency situation does not affect you, does not impact you for more than a very short time and you can go back to your normal life, and during the emergency situation you do not become vulnerable and have everything you need to be able to deal with that situation. The fact that we make preparations does not mean that we know that something will happen tomorrow. It is our duty to do so.
Producer: Raed Arafat also announced that from Wednesday, March 1, the Department for Emergency Situations resumes the exercise of alarming the population through the warning siren system. The exercise will take place on the first Wednesday of each month.
