A Romanian, the new IAEA Chief Coordinator

The new coordinator of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is a Romanian diplomat.
It's about the general manager for political affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cornel Feruţă , who begins his mandate in September.
Romanian diplomat will ensure coordination of the internal and external activities of the IAEA.
The decision was taken by the Director General of the IAEA, Amano Yukyia.
Cornel Feruţă is a diplomat with a career of over 15 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His experience in diplomatic service includes national execution and management functions within the guidelines of the OSCE, the Western Balkans, the exercise of the functions of director of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, general manager for political affairs.
He held the post of Permanent Representative of Romania to the international organizations in Vienna in the period 2007-2012.
Also, the Romanian diplomat's international experience includes the positions of vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the IAEA (2008-2010), Chairman of the 55 General Conference of the IAEA (2011) and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the second Review Conference of the Treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons (2013).
