The European Commission has selected 75 innovative start-ups, including a company from Romania, after the second deadline for evaluating funding requests through the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator this year, from June, informs a press release of the Community Executive quoted by Agerpres.
The name of the selected Romanian company is Amsimcel SRL, a start-up specialized in high-performance computing for accelerating the design of integrated circuits, deep learning and verification of complex systems, which proposed the hyperPV project, the first physical verification framework powered by graphics processing units (GPU).
These 75 innovative start-ups were selected following a competitive process, in which 232 companies were interviewed by juries made up of experienced investors and entrepreneurs.
In total, they will receive funding worth almost 400 million euros, in a combination of grants and capital investments.
Capital investments will be made through the EIC Fund, which is now fully operational. The selected companies are geographically widespread, coming from 21 countries.
