Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said today that a renegotiation of certain elements of the National Recovery ana Resilience Plan could take place in 2023, according to the stage balance.
The government is committed to reforming pensions, the prime minister said in parliament, after being asked if he would try to renegotiate part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, to increase pensions, in Brussels.
Nicolae Ciuca: Let's see what happens and what you achieve by 2023, so that the road you follow is very clear, so that you reach the objectives and targets of the NRRP, and after we have this stage balance, we can discuss part of the milestones and targets of the NRRP. At the moment, there have been, and still are elements that are provided in the NRRP for the reform of the pension system and I had a discussion with the Minister, in the Interinstitutional Committee as well, on this subject and what is to come is that in accordance with the objectives and the NRRP targets, we should follow that program.
Host: Asked if it is possible to eliminate VAT on food next year, the prime minister said that this discussion did not take place.
The President of the Senate, PNL leader Florin Citu, also spoke on this subject, stating that the Minister of Finance needs to calculate the impact of implementing such a measure.
