A Greek company will build four photovoltaic parks in Romania, with a total capacity of 211 megawatts.
The projects will be completed by 2025, and the total annual production of renewable electricity will cover the needs of 100.000 households.
This acquisition is part of the Mytilineos group's strategy to complete the construction of renewable energy units, then sell them to groups interested in developing their installed renewable energy capacity, and these investments represent an important step towards the development of renewable energy production, a sector in which Romania is in full growth.
The projects are at an advanced stage of development, with commercial operations expected to start gradually, including 13 megawatts in the fourth quarter of this year, 108 megawatts in 2024 and 90 megawatts by the third quarter of the year 2025.
The total annual production of renewable electricity is estimated at approximately 300 gigawatt/hour, capable of covering the needs of 100.000 households in Romania. In parallel, Hellenic Renewable concluded an agreement with another counterparty for the development of a portfolio of photovoltaic parks with a capacity of 600 megawatts, of course, also in Romania, in the southern part of the country.
In March, another company from Greece acquired the Romanian operations from the Italian energy group Enel, for 1.26 billion euros.
