74th anniversary of the founding of NATO

The European continent is facing the worst security crisis in recent decades, and NATO's role is more important than ever to ensure peace and the defense of freedom and democratic values, President Klaus Iohannis says, in a message on the occasion of the 74th anniversary since the establishment of the North Atlantic Alliance.
At the same time, it is also 19 years since Romania became a NATO member and the Romanian flag was flown alongside those of the allies at the Headquarters in Brussels.
The accession to NATO and the European Union and the modernization of the country were based on the sacrifice of the military in the theaters of operations, because Romania had nothing else to offer during the years of transition, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca also declared on this occasion.
Today he paid tribute to the Romanian soldiers at the monument of Military Heroes fallen in the theaters of operations.
