46.23% attendance at the referendum according to partial results
BEC announced that it had collected the votes from 99.97 per cent of the polling stations. BEC indicates that the final results will be announced probably on Wednesday.

The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) announced at 14.00 the partial results of the referendum for the impeachment of President Traian Băsescu, where after the pooling of the votes from 99.97 per cent of polling stations, the nationwide turnout was of 46,23 per cent.
According to the BEC President, after the pooling of data from 18544 precincts of a total of 18548, the number of votes cast for President Traian Băsescu’s impeachment represented a rate of 87,52 per cent , and against his duties a percentage of 11,15 per cent .
According to the Central Electoral Bureau “there are no longer expected significant changes from the 0.3 percent precincts which have not transmitted the final data ", that will no longer be this another reported during today.
The next release will be presented to the public after the preparation of the final report of the results consolidation, most probably during Wednesday, said the President of the BEC.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is ready to provide any kind of assistance and support, that the Romanian authorities will ask - the communiqué specifies.
