26th edition of Radio Romania Gaudeamus Book Fair opens on November 20

Articol de Radio România, 18 Noiembrie 2019, 15:24

Radio Romania Gaudeamus Book Fair, 26th edition, opens on Wednesday, November 20 at B2 Pavilion of Romexpo Bucharest, with books stands covering an area of 8,300 square meters. This year's edition is under the sign of the 30th anniversary of the historic moment of the December '89 Romanian Revolution, which is why Ion Caramitru and Mircea Dinescu have accepted to be honorary co-chairs.

The most anticipated annual event in the book industry, Radio Romania Gaudeamus Book Fair is one of the first ten profile fairs in Europe and places second among the cultural events appreciated by Bucharest residents.

President Director-General of Radio Romania, Georgică Severin: Gaudeamus Book Fair has scheduled over 900 events of all kinds. This must continue to exist because it is the only book fair made outside the publishing books. We offer equal opportunities to all publishers. We are, if you will, sort of administrators of a fair game in presenting and distributing books from this event which is a Radio Romania brand. For me, this link between Radio Romania and a book fair seems a very profound form through which we promote ourselves as a media and cultural institution and, at the same time, we support reading books, which unfortunately is something that is increasingly abandoned".

As in previous editions, many categories of public will have free access: preschoolers, students, students, teachers, librarians, professionals in the editorial / educational fields, members of writers' associations, journalists, pensioners, people with disabilities and their companions, groups organized. For visitors who do not fall into these categories, access on the premises will be made on the basis of tickets (in the amount of 5 lei) and the entrance subscriptions (in the amount of 10 lei, valid for the whole period), which will also constitute the support for Tombola Gaudeamus.

Radio Romania’s Gaudeamus Book Fair is a cultural project supported by the Ministry of Culture and National Identity.

Fair will be open daily from Wednesday until Sunday, between 10am and 8pm.
