Romania celebrates, on 26 June each year, its National Flag Day all across the country, with military ceremonies and cultural events.

The national flag is celebrated each year on June 26, as on this special day, in 1848, the revolutionary government of that time decreed that blue, yellow and red will be the national flag of all Romanians.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis sent a message on the National Flag Day, saying that Romania's tricolor is the symbol of a modern and democratic state, a member of NATO and the European Union.

“All the major steps our country has taken are symbolically marked on the National Flag, from the great political changes to the economic and social ones”, the Head of State also said.
