25 gendarmes who returned from Afghanistan, decorated

The 25 gendarmes who returned from Afghanistan, where they participated in NATO missions, were decorated today by the Minister of Internal Affairs and received distinctions from the American army.

During the mission in Afghanistan, they carried out training and advisory activities for the Afghan security forces.

Since 2011, over 450 Romanian gendarmes and policemen have taken part in the international missions Resolute Support and ISAF in Afghanistan.

International forces have begun withdrawing from the country, and the operation will end on September 11, 20 years after the terrorist attacks in the United States, which led to the entry of the US military and their allies in Afghanistan.
